GRACE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

“That Grace Might Reign...Romans 5:21

OUR MISSION

Grace Presbyterian Church exists that God's Grace in Jesus Christ might reign through the extension of His Kingdom, in every sphere of life, from the Edmondson Pike area, to the United States of America, to the Nations of the World.

OUR VISION IS...

  • that grace might reign upon the throne of the heart through an ever-increasing comprehension (understanding of truth) and apprehension (the heart enflamed to devotion by truth) of God's amazing grace revealed in the gospel of Jesus Christ—Eph 3:17-19.
  • that grace might reign through the worship and faithful proclamation of the Gospel (consecration of the church)—Eph 1:3-14.
  • that grace might reign over unbelief through evangelism and outreach (confronting the culture)—2 Cor 10:1-6.
  • that grace might reign in a suffering and broken humanity through the ministry of love, good deeds, and mercy (covering with compassion)— Matt 15:29-32.
  • that grace might reign in the cultivation of true community through the organization of small groups (cultivating community)—Eph 4:1-16.

OUR PHILOSOPHY OF COMMUNITY & WORSHIP

  • Presently we are a congregation of mostly young families with lots of children. The essential core value of our church is to be amazingly Grace centered — not only as it defines the proclamation of our message in the gospel (justification) but as it unleashes the power that propels our ministry forward (sanctification).
  • We are intensely relational with a strong emphasis on walking in community together open and empty handed with a spirit of humility, vulnerability and transparency.
  • We are determined to establish a mercy ministry around two focal points of service—a ministry to Widows and a ministry to Orphans. (James 1)
  • Our worship is dynamic, dialogical, liturgical, confessional and hymn driven. The preaching is expository, passionate (most Sundays anyway!) and seeks to be always biblically and doctrinally sound.
  • We have a strong emphasis on the doctrines of Grace and a Reformed world and life view. i.e. no division of life into secular and sacred categories, but rather all of life lived in the divine presence of God.
  • We are intentionally Covenantal in our view of families, children and their relationship to the church.
  • We believe that it is through our weakness and dependence that the power of God's grace is unleashed and made perfect in us (II Cor 12:9). Therefore we seek to live before each other in a spirit of confession and repentance in order to love God and each other well.
